send me a message for a chat and a quote.

I have been in the live music industry for over 20 years both as a performer and a sound engineer. I have been a monitor engineer for the past 5 years and have worked alongside many top uk artists including Feeder, The Darkness, Scouting for Girls, Dr Meaker, Nick Parker and the False Alarms, to name a few.
I am available for hire as a sound engineer/monitor engineer at very reasonable rates.
I understand what you need on stage and what the audience needs out front and I can take away all the stress of liaising with in-house crew and venues ensuring you have everything you need when you need it.

Fake Dave

So... 2020 was a terrible year for live music and life in general but here at Jaxonix towers, I decided to grab life by the balls, setup the studio and finally write and record some original tunes.
Under the guise of Fake Dave, these super funky tunes began to form and with a little injection of low end from my good friend and long term collaborator, Matthew White (Skinflowermusic) we were ready to unleash this sound into the world.
In the middle of a national lockdown, I found myself not only being the drummer but the guitarist, keys player, brass section and even vocalist.
This firmly put me outside of my comfort zone but the need to create and play music far out weighed the fear factor and eventually I grew more comfortable in my own style.
Another of my good friends, Leo Sampson of the Sampson Boat Co. was busy restoring a classic wooden sailing boat and his YouTube channel was growing at a fast rate. I was honoured to provide a few tunes for his channel and have since connected with many people across the globe as a direct result.

I have worked with many artists as a session musician including, Ruby and the Smoke, Tim Hawthorn, The Anachitypes, The Bad Cowboys, Flo Parker, William Cartwright, Cecil McFarrell, Big Smokin’ Joe, Ian M Perry and that’s just this past year.
If you want to collaborate on a project then please get in touch.

How can I play a live show if I’m a “One Man Band”?

That’s a bloody good question and one I am looking into right now. There are a couple of routes I could take as Fake Dave goes live...

My favourite idea is to rope in some of my awesome musician friends to help realise my tunes but this comes with a great price tag as any musician worth hiring is worth paying well And as much as I’d love to do this, my budget is that of a single dad so unless you guys come support it and buy merch etc I may find myself in a sticky spot.
The other option is to use technology to create a virtual band. This throws up almost endless possibilities for an epic show but would pose a limit on exactly which venues I can perform in and  the risk of a technical failure that would shut the whole show down isn’t a nice prospect for anyone.
I am then left with a third option which, in my opinion, gets the best of both worlds. A small live band with added virtual elements including visuals, loops and samples all triggered live but with the energy you can only get from talented musicians feeding off each other.
